Well, I tried to look it up on Google, but then I realized that this was probably one of your own photos, and that I wouldn't find it there. So I give up.
Tug & son, nice . . . what do they say, catch? Handful of birds? So did y'all clean them or does Judy and Sarah do that? Or do you take them to the processing place? Wait, North Dakota? Does it count if you didn't shoot them in Texas?

Those were wild. We were actually up there on a goose/duck hunt.
The pheasant hunting was sort of an afternoon side attraction.
It sure was fun, though. And I also discovered that pheasant breast
stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeno, then wrapped with bacon and grilled
is mighty fine, also.

I beg your pardon............
I've never taken anything to a processing place in my life!
(that's what I have Judy and Sarah for)

Tug....awesome man!!
All we have around our area are quail and grouse, but im sure they would be good prepared like that as well. Im pretty sure a baseball glove would taste good stuffed with cream cheese and jalepeno and wrapped in bacon. I also do my own processing, well boone has helped me some in the past skinning deer, those pictures will come in the future Saw some nice mulies and coyote on the drive through kansas last night.

At last! A kindred spirit!
Sounds like we all need to get together. I got all the sausage making
equipment out in the garage and a smokehouse out back. All we need is
a few deer and I know where we can wipe out a hog or two.
Kansas mulies, eh? Sounds cool. It's been a long time since I been mule deer hunting. I went up to Wyoming back in '87 and got a fairly decent
10pt. (or 5x5 if you're a Westerner) He was about 25" wide. Not real big as mulies go. (the guy we were hunting with had one on the wall that went 42")
But I was happy with it. We had a good time and got to see some pretty country, which was the main goal anyway.

Oh boy. Here we go again.
We'll have to have a big DRadio boards get-together. Eric and Tug can kill the meat. Debbie can cook whatever else goes with it. Dan and Tug can smoke and grill some stuff. And I'll make the cookies for dessert. (Maybe I'll even make a cheesecake. Been a while since I've done that.) We can have the guys sing us a tune or three. We'll drink lots of Diet Green Tea with Citrus, and just hang out in the great Texas outdoors. It'll be great.

So they will sing along because your voice is so beautiful that they won't be able to help themselves, or they will sing louder than you to block out your voice? No, I think it would be the first one.

Texas Trip!!
Hey Tug,
Me and my best hunting buddy, midnightmeldoy , who actually decided ont he cast and blast name, has been looking up hunts in TX on these big raches for hogs, bobcats and coyotes. If you have a good place to wipe out some of these pesky creature( hogs and dogs, no problem with cats and very hard to hunt) We might actually make this things happen sometime. Too bad we are flying in to southlake TX the end of this month. Both of those seasons are year round correct? how much is an out of state permit? You have the guns? Anyway, ill keep dreamin as we continue our drive across the midwest in the rain. almost to st louis head to NY via VA.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is there a weird-looking tine sticking out of the antlers towards the ground?

I would imagine if you give me some time, I could probably come up with
someplace we could go. I know a place where there's quite a few hogs close by here where I live, but it wouldn't be much of a hunt. More like a bait 'em up and shoot one thing.
(we usually just set a trap when somebody wants one)
There's lots of ranches in Texas where you can go on a hog hunt, deer hunt,
or pretty much anything else you want. The trick is finding one you can afford. Some of them are pretty pricey.
I'll tell you what, if y'all like bird hunting, me and a bunch of guys from my church are going on a dove hunt/camp out down in South Texas probably around the end of Sept. Lots of birds and lots of fun.
And yeah, I got plenty of guns to go around.

It's like I've walked into a different country. Y'all are speaking some strange language here.
Dan's brother lives in Lavernia, TX. He hunts hog and I believe deer right near his house. Dan's got guns for bird hunting. I don't know what I'm saying here, except that if you're coming to Texas to hunt . . . um, well, I don't know.

I could probably hook us up with a saltwater fishing trip easier than anything.
Either in the bay or offshore. My brother has a 26ft Pursuit with twin 200 Suzukis. We went out about 80 miles last Fall and loaded up on Red Snapper and a 67" Wahoo.

No tricks, just what's called a "drop tine". Spring Turkey season is upon us as well... This one was last season with a shotgun but I'll be chasing them with a bow in a week or two.

droptine,turkey,saltwater fishing response
Very nice buck in Kansas, never got one with a drop tine that nice.
Good bird, took one with a 11 inch beard this fall. 1.5 spurs. Might go in a few weeks in VA. Saw MANY birds in the rain our in the fields in KS.
26ft ?? I get a little sick on a 33 footer, how is the wave action out there normally? I can still hang, esp for some snapper and big wahoo action. I was fortunate enough to catch a 220 lb blue marlin in the dominican republic with my wife this summer, 80 dollar trip!! well worth it. Have caught some nice wahoo off the coast of north carolina...always 8-10 footers out in the gulf stream though, i usually get sick a few times. You guys dragging ballyhoo for the wahoo? still fishing for the snapper?

Thanks! It's a joy to get to hunt here. You guys have Eastern turkeys out there don't you? Mostly Rio's here, but the eastern 1/3 of the state has Easterns as well. Seriously if you ever come through here during a season and you want to hunt let me know. We'd find a way to get it done!

Well, my brother and me were pretty much raised on a shrimp boat in the GoM
so seasickness has never been a problem for us. It can get pretty rough so you have to pick your weather. In the Summer, it's usually pretty calm unless there's a hurricane stirring somewhere close.
The wahoo we caught was pretty much an incidental catch. We were snapper fishing over a wreck and had a ribbon fish out on a drift line when we hooked him. We're usually game for anything that presents itself, but the normal routine is to hit some structure and get our Red Snapper limit then go check out a few rigs or the occasional weed line trying for Ling, Kings, Dolphin, or Tripletail.
